PLDA announces the availability of a new System-on-Module product, the PLDA SoMZ-7045
PLDA’s SoMZ-7045 functionality and performance will be demonstrated at Embedded World in Germany
SAN JOSE, Calif. -- February 26, 2014 — PLDA, the industry leader in PCI Express® and interface IP solutions today announced the availability of a new System-on-Module (SoM) product, the PLDA SoMZ-7045. A system-on-module solution combines the flexibility and ease of programming of an ARM® Cortex™-A9 with the configurability and parallel processing power of an FPGA. Embedded software developers can use the SoM and its optional carrier board as a turnkey prototyping solution. This approach allows them to move to production with the exact same SoM architecture on a customized carrier board with the right set of interfaces and extensions, either designed internally or by our partners, optimizing time-to-market.
PLDA SoMZ-7045 offers the following benefits:
- Smallest, most integrated high-end Xilinx® Zynq® module in the industry
- Ensures a unique out-of-the-box experience by providing a complete design environment including:
- A carrier card with a broad range of communication interfaces and I/O options
- A flexible test design with source code that customers can use to test the module functionality and use as a starting point for their own applications
- A comprehensive video processing design with source code which demonstrates a real-life application involving host software, embedded software, and FPGA fabric processing
- PLDA offers full customization of their modules to optimize our customers’ designs for price and features
- All PLDA SoM modules are manufactured by our ISO9001 system design division and are REACH and RoHS compliant
“System-on-Module devices enable faster time-to-market by giving embedded designers an easy way to jumpstart their projects instead of developing their applications from the ground up.” stated Chris Hallahan, Sr. Manager, Partner and Ecosystem Alliances at Xilinx. “PLDA is a highly regarded Certified-tier Member of the Xilinx Alliance Program, providing innovative ecosystem solutions that accelerate embedded system design productivity. ”
Product Availability:
PLDA’s SoMZ-7045 is available now as either a standalone module or with a complete starter kit that integrates the SoM with a carrier board and two reference designs. Please visit the PLDA website for more information - SoM based on Zynq 7045 All Programmable SoC
