Global Unichip Corp. (GUC) Licenses Arteris FlexNoC Fabric IP for 16nm System-on-Chip (SoC) IP Verification Platform
Application processor system-on-chip (SoC) designs to accelerate mobile device development
CAMPBELL, California – April 10, 2014 – Arteris Inc., the inventor and leading supplier of silicon-proven commercial network-on-chip (NoC) interconnect IP solutions, today announced that GUC has licensed Arteris FlexNoC fabric IP for use in its 16nm system-on-chip (SoC) IP verification platform.
The world’s leading SoC developers use FlexNoC interconnect fabric IP as the on-chip communication backbone for their products, connecting the tens or hundreds of IP blocks present on a modern system-on-chip. The top three Chinese semiconductor companies by revenue - HiSilicon Technologies, Spreadtrum Communications, and RDA Microelectronics – use Arteris FlexNoC IP in their most important SoCs. Other publicly announced customers in Greater China include Allwinner Technology, Fuzhou Rockchip Electronics, Actions Semiconductor , and Socle Technology. According to IHS iSuppli data, the majority of Chinese semiconductor companies in terms of revenue license Arteris FlexNoC IP.
“Our evaluation of Arteris FlexNoC was extremely quick, and received very positive results in routing and timing closure,” said Ching-Che Liang, Senior Vice President of R&D at GUC. “We know that Arteris FlexNoC is the fastest way to implement a SoC design platform and to create derivative SoCs from it. Using FlexNoC creates unique time and cost advantages for us and our customers.”
“We are honored that GUC has chosen Arteris FlexNoC as a critical enabler to its 16FF+ systemon- chip (SoC) IP verification platform project,” said K. Charles Janac, President and CEO of Arteris. “Arteris is the best and safest option for companies creating derivative SoC designs based on a SoC reference design platform.”
