Inuitive Introduce NU3000 ASIC, The Industry's Most Advanced 3D imaging and computer vision processor for PCs, laptops, tablets, smartphones and consumer devices
Leading Developer's proprietary 3D camera technology & NU3000 ASIC enable unrivaled performance and accuracy for 3D Scanning, 3D Imaging & NUI applications
RA'ANANA, Israel, May 27, 2014 -- Inuitive Ltd ., a leading 3D Imaging and Computer Vision Processor developer, is proud to announce it has sampled its NU3000 ASIC , the most advanced Image and Computer Vision (CV) Processor in the industry. Designed to address a wide range of end markets, NU3000 ASIC delivers unrivaled performance and accuracy for 3D imaging, Natural User Interface (NUI) and 3D vision applications for consumer devices: PCs, laptops, tablets, smartphones and other consumer devices.
In addition, Inuitive has developed several 3D camera modules based on its proprietary "3D assisted stereoscopy" to suit short, medium and long range applications. Inuitive flexible architecture allows using the same NU3000 ASIC to support different operational ranges for various 3D imaging & CV applications.
The NU3000 ASIC leverages a multi-core architecture, comprised of Inuitive's proprietary 3D image processor, dual CEVA-MM3101 Vector DSPs from CEVA, Inc. CEVA +1.68% specially designed to effectively execute CV functions, and an ARM© Cortex© A5 processor with ARM© NEON©. This state of the art architecture guarantees best in class CV performance. Crucially, the multi-core NU3000 ASIC offers open software architecture to support both proprietary and 3rd Party software, enabling customers to truly differentiate their devices. Furthermore, the Inuitive architecture enables implementing all complex CV functions on the NU3000 ASIC, thus "off-loading" the main CPU to lower power consumption and latency of the overall system, freeing up the main CPU to perform other tasks.
"We are happy to announce sampling of the NU3000—the most advanced 3D Imaging and Computer Vision processing ASIC today," said Mr. Shlomo Gadot – Inuitive Co-Founder & CEO. "Inuitive NU3000 and our proprietary '3D Assisted Stereoscopy' provide customers with superior technology they can leverage to offer best in class user experience in a variety of applications: 3D Image processing, NUI for personal devices, 3D scanners for industrial and consumer applications, advanced monitoring applications for industrial and domestic use. NU3000 flexible and open architecture is a key success factor for customers who need such advanced Imaging & CV processing ASIC to launch new and exciting services to their markets."
"We congratulate Inuitive for the successful introduction of the NU3000 3D imaging and vision ASIC, incorporating our CEVA-MM3101 processor to enable the most advanced imaging and vision applications," said Eran Briman, vice president of marketing at CEVA. "The potential use cases for NU3000 are enormous, spanning mobile, consumer, home entertainment and more, opening up these markets to the untapped potential of 3D image and vision processing."
In the coming months, Inuitive will be developing additional reference designs for longer range 3D applications covering 3D scenes in the living room environment.
