Argon Streams Licensed to World Leading Chip Developer
Argon Streams, the only test bit-streams providing full coverage, is rapidly becoming the first choice verification solution for designers of HEVC decoders.
June 2, 2014 – Cambridge, UK – Argon Design Ltd., a leading supplier of advanced video verification solutions, through it’s sales and marketing partner ChipStart LLC, has licensed Argon Streams to world leading fabless semiconductor company MediaTek.
Argon Streams is a comprehensive set of test bit-streams that are generated directly from the HEVC specification to ensure full coverage and complete verification of over 15,000 test cases, including all the obscure, but perfectly legal, corner cases that many other bit-streams overlook.
By accurately measuring the test coverage directly against the specification, Argon Streams has been optimized to reduce both the size of each bit-stream and the quantity of test bit-streams, both of which help to dramatically reduce simulation time. Argon Streams also includes an interactive coverage report to give a detailed view of the test results, which enabling rapid debugging of problems in the decoder design.
Chi-Cheng Ju, Director of MediaTek’s Multimedia Development in the Office of the CTO, says, “As technology leaders in multimedia, it is imperative to ensure that our decoder designs are leading-edge and fully compliant with the HEVC specification.”
Alan Scott, CEO of Argon Design, adds, “We are pleased to welcome MediaTek to the growing family of leading chip design companies that rely on Argon Streams for full verification of their video decoder IP.”
Argon Streams is sold and supported worldwide by Chipstart. For more information contact your local Chipstart sales representative or see Argon Streams in action on booth #425 at DAC 2014.
