The agreement extends the cross-license signed in 2008, which provides a standard interface for INSIDE VaultSEcure Secure Element products
Aix-en-Provence, France, July 29, 2014 – INSIDE Secure (Euronext: INSD), a leader in embedded security solutions for mobile and connected devices, today announces a new Single Wire Protocol (SWP) license agreement with Gemalto. The agreement is an extension of the 2008 SWP and HCI (Host Controller Interface) cross-license agreement and provides a standard interface for INSIDE’s VaultSEcure Secure Element product line. This new license reinforces Gemalto’s SWP as the de facto standard for Secure Element connections to smartphone application processors.
INSIDE Secure and Gemalto have been instrumental in standardizing both SWP and HCI for Near Field Commutations (NFC) technology, which was at the center of the original agreement between the two companies.
