Vidatronic Announces Buck DC-DC Switching Converter IP with Excellent Power Efficiency for Low Power Applications
COLLEGE STATION, TX – August 6, 2014 – Vidatronic Inc, a leading provider of power management intellectual property (IP) solutions, announces the VBUCK400T110, a Buck DC-DC switching converter IP core in the TSMC 110nm CMOS process. The VBUCK400T110 is optimized for microprocessor, application specific integrated circuit (ASIC), and system-on-a-chip (SOC) integration. The Buck IP core can be used to implement dynamic voltage and frequency scaling (DVFS) for modern microchips.
The VBUCK400T110 IP core provides up to 400mA of load current and can achieve up to 93% power efficiency. The maximum load current and output voltage can be adjusted to meet customers’ needs. The Buck DC-DC converter uses a voltage square (V2) mode controller to provide fast transient response while using a simple frequency compensation scheme. The nominal regulator IP core switching frequency is between 1 and 1.5 MHz.
This switching converter IP expands Vidatronic’s product offering to cover all power management applications for their clients in mobile and wearable electronic devices. “The VBUCK400T110 has been optimized for high power efficiency as well as for ease of integration into our customers’ products,” states Brittany Eckmann, Strategic Technical Marketing Manager of Vidatronic. “Ultimately, we want to be able to provide our customers with a comprehensive power management IP collection that matches their individual needs with the level of performance they want and expect.”
