Authorized As the Distributor of ARM Keil Tools, Faraday Provides the Complete Family of ARM Development Tools
Hsinchu, Taiwan 11 Sept. 2014 -- Faraday Technology Corporation (TAIEX: 3035), a leading fabless ASIC/SoC and IP provider, today announced the agreement with ARM to distribute the ARM® Keil® tools suite in Taiwan. This agreement builds on Faraday’s long-standing partnership with ARM which features distribution rights for the complete family of ARM development tools in Taiwan.
Faraday has distributed ARM RVDS and DS-5 development tools since 2001 and helped provide the software, development ecosystem, and technical support in Taiwan. The experience accumulated from distributing ARM tools has benefited Faraday’s ASIC customers with their technology development and implementation.
The newly-licensed Keil tools cater perfectly to the strong demand for applications targeted at the growing IoT (Internet of Things) and wearable device markets which are raising the demand for ARM Cortex®-M processors. With Keil tools, designers can develop their embedded systems with less effort and shorter lead-time, while users in Taiwan will obtain more comprehensive local technical service and support from Faraday.
“The partnership between ARM and Faraday has lasted more than a decade. As a distributor of ARM tools, we keep providing the users with the complete development tools, environment, and service to meet the development demand in the mainstream and emerging hot markets. Besides, for Faraday, the distribution expansion is expected to bring more ASIC business opportunities in these fields as well,” said Jensen Yen, associate vice president of marketing and spokesperson at Faraday Technology.
“Faraday is an important ARM partner in Taiwan, using its extensive knowledge of ARM technology to support the local market,” said Hobson Bullman, general manager of development solutions group, ARM. “Adding the ARM Keil tools suite to their portfolio will allow them to provide even greater value to the regional embedded sector. This aligns well to our commitment to the region which also includes the recent opening of a CPU design center in Hsinchu Science Park focused on products for IoT applications.”
