SatixFy Integrates IP Cores for Advanced Satellite Modem SoC Using Sonics On-Chip Networks
Milpitas, Calif. – September 30 , 2014 – Sonics, Inc., the world’s foremost supplier of on-chip network (NoC) technologies and services, today announced that SatixFy Ltd. is using SonicsSX® as the network fabric for integration of IP cores in its SX-3000 Satellite DVB-S2X/RCS2 system-on-chip (SOC). Israel-based SatixFy is addressing broadband satellite communications for the forthcoming High Throughput Satellite (HTS) era where wideband transponders and multi-spot beams will provide higher data rates at a more affordable cost. According to SatixFy, the new DVB-S2X satellite transmission standard provides higher efficiency, better satellite utilization, and paves the way to fully utilize HTS.
“SatixFy is one of many Israeli companies at the forefront of next-generation communications technology development,” said Grant Pierce, CEO of Sonics. “They chose Sonics’ on-chip networks for their high performance and quality in IP core integration. We are excited to be an important part of their advanced satellite SOC design architecture.”
