Discretix Technologies Ltd. Announces Company Name Change to Sansa Security, Inc.
New Branding Reflects Commitment to Solving Deep IoT Security Problems in a Smarter Way
SANTA CLARA, CA-- Oct 23, 2014 - Discretix Technologies Ltd., a leading provider of embedded security technologies, today announced it is changing its name to Sansa Security. The new brand reflects the company's mission to solve today's most vexing security challenges and broaden embedded security protection around evolving electronic devices that have increasingly-diverse feature sets and processing capabilities. In addition, the rebranded Sansa Security product suite addresses the challenges Internet of Things (IoT) device manufacturers face around continuous configuration changes, remote provisioning and limited operating environments.
Founded in 2000, Sansa Security is a leading provider of end-to-end security solutions for mobile handsets, smart phones and Wi-Fi devices. Most recently, the company has found its technology to be applicable to a host of new IoT devices from light bulbs to smart meters. To avoid the possibility of not fully capturing this new rapidly expanding space, Sansa Security is rebranding itself to better reflect the recent engineering advancements the company has made to secure IoT devices.
"By 2020, it's estimated the IoT installed base will grow to 26 billion units*," said Coby Sella, CEO for Sansa Security. "However, it will never hit that number unless we protect that world with adequate security."
"There's a reason Sansa's security technology is built into more than a quarter of a billion electronic devices around the world," said Haim Sadger, Partner for Sequoia Capital. "When you combine the fact that 75 percent of the company's budget is dedicated to research and development and factor in the customer success they've achieved in numerous industries, including many of the world's largest mobile device manufacturers, we strongly believe Sansa Security is perfectly positioned to become the fastest growing embedded security platform for IoT in the industry."
The Sansa Security platform can be implemented by chipset vendors and device manufacturers and enables those manufacturers to release high value applications that protect the device and its contents against external threats. The platform can also be used by silicon chip vendors, device vendors and device side application vendors to support or deploy revenue generating data-aware applications. Additionally, the Sansa Security platform protects sensitive information from malicious applications, fraud theft and other hacks that may inflict damage on end users or a vendor's reputation.
