IRIDA Labs Partners with CEVA to Offer Advanced Computer Vision Algorithms for Ultra Low Power Devices Using CEVA-MM3101 Imaging & Vision DSP
Newest member of CEVAnet partner program optimizes portfolio of CV and computational photography algorithms including video stabilization, low-light video enhancement and video noise suppression for CEVA-MM3101
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., - November 10, 2014 – CEVA, Inc. (NASDAQ: CEVA), the leading licensor of DSP-based IP platforms for vision, audio, communications and connectivity and IRIDA Labs, a leading technology provider of software for state-of-the-art embedded Computer Vision (CV) and video enhancement algorithms announced today that the companies have partnered to offer IRIDA Labs’ low power CV software portfolio optimized for the CEVA-MM3101 imaging and vision DSP targeting a range of end markets including mobile, wearables, surveillance and automotive.
IRIDA Labs will present their CV and computational photography technologies for the CEVA-MM3101 DSP at the CEVA Technology Symposium 2014, November 17, 19, 21 in Asia. For more information, visit http://events.ceva-dsp.com/symposium-series14/ .
IRIDA Labs’ CV and computational photography technology portfolio includes a broad set of state-of-the-art algorithms providing premium quality for high throughput applications, including video stabilization, low-light video enhancement and video noise suppression. By implementing these processor-intensive algorithms on the CEVA-MM3101 and offloading them from the CPU, customers can significantly reduce the required power consumption for imaging and vision applications while retaining premium quality and visual performance.
Eran Briman, vice president of marketing at CEVA stated, “We welcome IRIDA Labs to the CEVAnet partner program, offering their portfolio of advanced CV algorithms to our extensive customer base using our CEVA-MM3101 DSP for embedded computer vision and computational photography applications. IRIDA Labs’ strong CV expertise is evident through the quality of their algorithms and we are pleased to partner with them.”
“We are delighted to join the CEVAnet partner program and make available our CV software optimized for the industry’s most widely adopted imaging and vision DSP,” said Vassilis Tsagaris, CEO of IRIDA Labs. “Our computer vision technology and software solutions together with the power and performance efficiencies of the CEVA-MM3101 DSP enable battery-powered devices to support a range of newly developed algorithms which greatly improve image quality. We look forward to continue this collaboration with CEVA and its ecosystem.”
The CEVA-MM3101 imaging and vision DSP addresses the extreme processing requirements of the most sophisticated computational photography and computer vision applications such as video analytics, augmented reality and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). By offloading these performance-intensive tasks from the CPUs and GPUs, the highly-efficient CEVA-MM3101 dramatically reduces the power consumption of the overall system, while providing complete flexibility. The platform includes a vector DSP developed specifically to deal with the complexities of such applications and an extensive Application Development Kit (ADK) to enable easy development environment. The CEVA ADK includes an Android Multimedia Framework (AMF) that streamlines software development and integration effort, a set of advanced software development tools and a range of software products and libraries optimized for the DSP.
