OKI Signs Agreement with Xylon for Exclusive Usage Rigts of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems Technology
Marks entry into ADAS design service market with high quality FPGA design technology
Tokyo, December 11, 2014 – OKI IDS, an OKI Group company specializing in design services, today announced that OKI IDS has signed an agreement with Xylon d.o.o. (“Xylon” hereinafter), which seeks to extend its products and services to the global markets, that the two companies will collaborate in an alliance partnership to penetrate into Japan’s Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS hereinafter) design market, effective November 12, 2014. Under this agreement, OKI IDS will act as Xylon’s preferred partner for use of the Xylon logicBRICKS™ based ADAS technologies in Japan.

Surround View situational awareness functions based on high-speed and high-definition image detection/recognition technologies and Driver Assistance Systems are proliferating widely across the automobile industry in order to dramatically increase driver and pedestrian safety. In place of fixed function SoCs, manufacturers are increasingly adopting the programmability of FPGAs(*1) to incorporate these image processing technologies, an approach that reduces initial development costs and risks, shrinks the development cycle, and allows flexible adaptation to a range of products. The partnership between Xylon, which has an outstanding record of FPGA based design wins for ADAS in Europe and North America, and OKI IDS, which offers IP and services for FPGA in the areas of high-speed image transfer and communication in the Japanese market, will facilitate access to these technologies for the growing Japanese ADAS market.
Through this alliance, OKI IDS plans to expand growth of its design service business in the Japanese automobile market by leveraging Xylon’s ADAS technologies that boast numerous customer successes and accumulated expertise. Meanwhile, Xylon will seek to win major customers in Japan through OKI IDS while expanding its business in Asia, the US and Europe.
“Both OKI IDS and Xylon are Xilinx Premier Alliance Members with strong technology expertise and extensive design service experience,” said Dave Tokic, Senior Director, Partner Ecosystems and Alliances, Xilinx Inc. “The collaboration between OKI IDS and Xylon will complement each other’s business and technical needs, and will create great synergy in accelerating customer adoption of industry leading ADAS technologies on the Xilinx All Programmable FPGA and SOC (*2) platforms.”
