Silicon Vision Announces Bluetooth Low Energy Radio IP SIG Certification and Listing
London, UK -- January 29, 2015 -- Today Silicon Vision Technologies Ltd. announced that its Bluetooth Low Energy Radio IP is officially certified in the Bluetooth SIG Qualified Listings. According to the testing results, the certified radio is the industry's lowest power for the same process node that is compatible with Bluetooth standards version 4.0, 4.1 and 4.2. Additionally, the innovative IP includes a complete 2.4GHz Transceiver with integrated Frequency Synthesizer, XTAL oscillator, digital GFSK Modulator/De-Modulator, AGC loop (Automatic Gain Control), AFC (Automatic Frequency Control), State Machine, 4-Wire SPI Interface, Automatic Calibrators for RF/Analog blocks, Bias and LDOs for power management. Silicon Vision Smartbluetooth family delivers unparalleled performance and reliability; making them ideal for high-availability, low-power applications in wearable, medical, and HID markets.
Certifying the Bluetooth Low Energy Radio IP also helps our customers to accelerate the time-to-market, while providing an added level of assurance that our products deliver the performance called for key industry standards. The SIG certification will also enable Silicon Vision to expand its licensing business worldwide, reaching out more RF IP customers, and capitalizing with rich wireless IP portfolio addressing the IoT market. The Smartbluetooth Bluetooth Low Energy family is available on wide range of process nodes including 180nm, 110nm and 55nm from tier-one semiconductor foundries including TSMC, SMIC and HHgrace.
The Bluetooth low energy certified IP by Silicon Vision will enable the next generation of Bluetooth Smart fitness devices. Companies can now quickly make Bluetooth low energy sensors in sports devices to instantaneously transmit data such as running cadence, stride length, total distance, or cycling speed, and pedal cadence to Bluetooth enabled devices like smart phones, sports watches, and cycling computers. ABI-research, Inc. forecasts shipments of Bluetooth enabled sports and fitness devices will grow ten-fold from 2011 to 2016, totaling 278 million and representing over 60 percent of the total available market. This is driven by the trend to move away from proprietary solutions and toward Bluetooth Smart devices.
