DSP Group, Inc. Designates Synopsys Professional Services as System-on-a-Chip Design Center for SmartCores DSP Family
Cooperation Enables Faster Time to Market and More Advanced System-on-a-Chip Solutions
SANTA CLARA, California; August 28, 2002 -- DSP Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: DSPG), the world leader in the development and licensing of Digital Signal Processor (DSP) cores, announced today that Synopsys Professional Services has been designated as a Design Center for DSP Group's SmartCores DSP Family. Additionally, DSP Group has joined the Synopsys Professional Services Alliance Program. The two companies will work toward providing their mutual customers with optimal solutions that combine best-practice design solutions and leading-edge intellectual property (IP)-based components for the design of application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs). As a designated Design Center, Synopsys Professional Services will apply its expertise to assist customers in designing wireless, broadband and other telecommunications systems-on-chips (SoCs) that combine products from DSP Group's SmartCores family with industry-standard processors from other semiconductor and component companies.
"Digital signal processing is essential technology for customers in our target market segments of wireless and broadband communications," said Glen Jones, director of strategic partnerships, Synopsys Professional Services, Synopsys, Inc. "The soft cores offered by DSP Group give developers in these and other domains versatile IP solutions for their end-user applications. By becoming a Design Center for DSP Group, we strengthen our commitment to providing our mutual customers with system-on-a-chip design solutions for compute-intensive applications."
"DSP Group has consistently striven to create exceptional value for our customers through our multi-generation SmartCores products and network of technology partners," says Bat-Sheva Ovadia, vice president of marketing and business development at DSP Group's Ceva Licensing Division. "We believe that the combination of Synopsys Professional Services' design capabilities and our widely-adopted DSP cores will create a stronger value proposition for our existing and future licensees."
