Faraday Delivers a Complete Set of Cell Libraries and Memory Compilers for UMC 28nm HPC Process
Optimized Performance, Energy Efficiency and Chip Density for High-end Application Market
HSINCHU, Taiwan, Jan. 14, 2016 -- Faraday Technology Corporation (TWSE: 3035), a leading fabless ASIC/SoC and IP provider, today announced the availability of a complete set of cell libraries and memory compilers for UMC's 28nm HPC (High Performance Compact) process. The IP set is developed to fulfill the requirements from low-power to high-speed to satisfy the demands of various high-end applications, such as surveillance IPcam, DSC, SSD, xPON, home gateway, etc.
Faraday's solutions for 28nm HPC process include three cell library series of the 7-track miniLib™, the 9-track generic libraries, and the 12-track UHS-Lib™, and three memory compiler series of generic, low leakage, and ultra high speed. The 7-track miniLib™ series enable the same routability with about 20% die size reduction; the 12-track UHS-Lib™ with UHS SRAM provides the high performance, optimizing ARM CPU cores up to 1.5GHz clock rate. And the low leakage memory brings 50% power leakage reduction in stand-by mode; with two embedded HVT power gating MOS separately for Cell array and peripheral in the power configuration, the power leakage decreases up to 70% and 97% respectively in the retention mode and sleep mode.
With the long-term collaboration with UMC and solid ASIC experience, Faraday is acquainted with all UMC process technologies and provides professional consultancy for IP adoption. Faraday's IPs are well validated in chip integration with rigid IP verification flow and criteria for mass production quality. The turnkey service also includes pre/post-silicon technical support, system spec or ESD consulting, and the TCAM compiler solutions to assist customers developing their complex SoC designs.
Flash Lin, Senior Vice President of R&D and Operation at Faraday, said, "We are pleased to bring our customers the benefits of the UMC 28nm HPC process with the newly-launched high performance and low power-leakage solutions. In addition to the competitive IP set, Faraday also provides flexible IP customization service to facilitate customers' chip integration for fast time-to-market."
