Sankalp Semiconductor Completes Acquisition of Interra Systems Design Service Business Unit
BANGALORE -- February 1, 2016 -- Sankalp Semiconductor, a leading semiconductor system on chip service provider, today announced that they have completed the acquisition of privately-held Interra System's Design Service business, which includes their memory design, SOC verification and ASIC/EDA automation service businesses. This acquisition creates a unique technology portfolio and delivers a powerful value proposition to customers as they gain access to a broad array of leading design service and technology that fuels the next-generation SoC (system on chip) designs.
"Memory design services represents an essential component of our growth strategy. Embedded memory design has become a key differentiator in customer designs today," said Samir Patel, CEO of Sankalp Semiconductor. Interra is a leader in memory IP services with a broad technology base and an impressive array of customers worldwide. The synergy of Sankalp Semiconductor and Interras' Memory Design team is compelling for our customers' SoC design initiatives. Sankalp will continue to service and grow all of Interra's existing design service customer accounts.
"With Interra's penetration across a broad range of embedded markets, and Sankalps' relationships with a large array of customers, we expect to reap significant sales growth from the new partnership. We can offer a more comprehensive, integrated design solution, better serve existing markets, and strategically enter high-growth segments where memory is critical. Sankalps' commitment to the analog/mixed signal market remains unwavering. We are committed to extending our leadership roadmap as we integrate the Interra's VLSI design services family into Sankalp Semiconductor," added Samir Patel.
"This is a strategic merger of memory design and verification services. They are receiving incredible talent", said Sunil Jain, CEO of Interra Systems. Clearly, greater success at memory design will strengthen the overall opportunity for Sankalp to deliver on their strategy to create a family of services including SOC design and verification.
