Arasan announces the Industry's First MIPI DSI-2 Controller IP Cores
February 25, 2016 -- Arasan Chip Systems, the leading provider of MIPI Camera and Display IP Solutions, announces support for MIPI DSI-2 v1.0 with support for MIPI C-PHY v1.0 and MIPI D-PHY v2.0.
DSI-2 v1.0 extends Arasan’s 13 years of support of MIPI IP, to the next generation of high-resolution cameras and displays.
Arasan’s MIPI DSI IP Core compliant to the MIPI DSI-2 v1.0 Specification is seamlessly integrated with the MIPI CPHY v 1.0 and MIPI D-PHY v2.0. The three lane C-PHY configuration and the four lane D-PHY configuration support 17Gbps and 18Gbps respectively. Display resolutions from 1080p at 240fps to UHD (4K) at 60fps are supported with these standards. And higher resolutions are obtainable through additional D-PHY lanes or of compression.
“Our DSI IP in combination with our C-PHY and D-PHY analog IP offers early adopters the fastest time to market while ensuring compliance.” said Sam W. Beal, Director of Marketing, Arasan Chip Systems.
Arasan was the first IP supplier to announce support for C-PHY in 2015 and the only supplier offering a combination C-PHY + D-PHY for complete compatibility to the MIPI CSI-2 and DSI-2 standards. Arasan announced its first D-PHY IP Core in 2007, and has the Industry’s broadest portfolio of D-PHY IP with over 19 nodes on 5 foundries from 180nm to 28nm, including multiple automotive grade nodes
Availability
The Total MIPI DSI-2 v1.0 IP Solution includes DSI-2 v1.0 transmitter and receiver controllers, the C-PHY v1.0, and C-PHY + D-PHY v1.2 combination physical interface. The D-PHY v2.0 physical interface will be available in early 2016 after release of the MIPI.
