Lattice Announces Latest Generation of ispLEVER Design Tools
- Comprehensive, Integrated Tools Include Support for New ispXPTM Product Families and ORCA® FPGA Devices-
- Includes New Features and Industry Leading CAE Tools -
HILLSBORO, OR - SEPTEMBER 16, 2002 - Lattice Semiconductor Corporation (NASDAQ: LSCC), the inventor of in-system programmable (ISPTM ) logic products, today announced the release of ispLEVER version 2.0, the latest generation of its ispLEVER design tool suite. Designated "The Simple Machine for Complex DesignTM", ispLEVER software provides developers a simple yet powerful tool to design with all of Lattice's programmable logic products. This latest version of the ispLEVER toolset adds support for Lattice's new ispXPGATM and ispXPLDTM product families as well as integrates the features and functionality of Lattice's ORCA Foundry design tools. This enables users of ispLEVER to design with the new ispXPGA and ispXPLD product families, ORCA FPGA/FPSC families and all of Lattice's industry leading CPLD products without having to learn a new design tool.
New Capabilities and Features
To take full advantage of the power of ispXPTM products, new tools like the Module/IP Manager speed the design process by providing access to customizable intellectual property modules optimized for Lattice silicon or created by the user. The Module/IP Manager can also be used to speed the creation of common logical elements with the use of LPM-like (Library of Parameterized Modules) macros for design.
The ispLEVER floorplanner provides control over the placement and routing of logic for ispXPGA designs. The color-coded GUI interface helps designers easily identify and fix areas of routing congestion, locate and move design instances, and resolve critical timing issues.
ispLEVER v2.0 software continues to include powerful features and tools found in previous versions of Lattice design tools. These include:
-
Constraints Editor tool– allows selection of I/O settings and pin assignments via a GUI drag-and-drop interface.
-
Performance AnalystTM tool with SpeedSEARCHTM feature – gives the user complete flexibility to select and evaluate any speed grade of a device without design recompilation.
-
ispEXPLORERTM tool - helps the user find optimum design compiler settings by automatically performing multiple compiler runs and displaying the results in a spreadsheet format.
-
ispVM® System - programming software for all Lattice ISP devices, including JEDEC, SVF, and full support for the IEEE 1532 ISC programming standard.
Lattice continues to lead all programmable logic suppliers by integrating and supplying industry leading synthesis and simulation tools from Mentor Graphics® and Synplicity®. The ispLEVER tools support both Leonardo Spectrum® and Synplify® VHDL and Verilog synthesis tools and the ModelSim® RTL and Timing Simulation tool./p>
