OmniVision's OV2718 Brings 1080p High Definition Imaging to HiSilicon's System-on-Chip IP Camera Solution
CameraChip™ Sensor Delivers High Dynamic Range and Best-in-Class Low-Light Sensitivity to HiSilicon's Next-Generation Hi3516C-V200 for Commercial Security Platforms
LAS VEGAS, April 6, 2016 -- OmniVision Technologies, Inc., a leading developer of advanced digital imaging solutions, and HiSilicon Technologies Co., Ltd., a leading chipset solution provider for telecom networks, wireless terminals and digital media, today announced that OmniVision's 1/3-inch OV2718 CameraChip™ sensor will be used in HiSilicon's Hi3516C-V200 IP camera system-on-chip (SoC) imaging solution for commercial security platforms. Leveraging the OV2718, the Hi3516C-V200 captures high definition (HD) 1080p video at 30 frames per second (FPS) in high dynamic range (HDR) mode with best-in-class low-light performance.
"The Hi3516C-V200 SoC solution offers a high cost-performance ratio, with advanced features such as intelligent video analysis and ISP integration," said Jimmy Ji, marketing manager at HiSilicon. "OmniVision's impressive technology and product portfolio, combined with its solid track record, make the company's sensors the foremost choice for our advanced surveillance imaging solutions."
"Demand for HD video recording capabilities is expected to be strong for the commercial security system market," said Chris Yiu, senior strategic marketing manager at OmniVision. "We view HiSilicon as a key leader in that market, and are honored by HiSilicon's selection of our OV2718 for this new offering in HiSilicon's already extraordinary product line."
The power-efficient Hi3516C-V200 offers 90- and 270-degree rotation and lens distortion correction, 1080p HD recording, excellent scene reproduction, and customization of customer IP camera design with support for 3A algorithms. The Hi3516C-V200 enables advanced security applications such as motion detection, perimeter defense, and video diagnosis with an integrated IVE and video 3D de-noising, image enhancement, and anti-flicker. Built on OmniVision's OmniBSI-2™ pixel architecture, the OV2718 utilizes OmniVision's in-pixel HDR technology to capture crisp, clear images and video when recording in high- and low-light environments.
The Hi3516C-V200 with OV2718-enabled HD and HDR capabilities is currently sampling and is expected to enter volume production in the second quarter of 2016. The Hi3516C-V200 will be on display at OmniVision's suite at the The Palazzo during ISC West 2016 in Las Vegas from April 5-8.
