GCT Semiconductor Licenses Arteris FlexNoC Interconnect IP for LTE Digital Baseband Systems-on-Chip (SoCs)
Corporate-wide license enables low-power SoC design for multiple engineering teams
CAMPBELL, California – April 26, 2016 – Arteris Inc., the inventor and industry leader in commercial network-on-chip (NoC) interconnect IP solutions, today announced that GCT Semiconductor, a leading fabless designer and supplier of advanced 4G LTE semiconductor solutions, has licensed Arteris FlexNoC IP for use in its low power LTE digital baseband chipsets.
GCT Semiconductor is a longtime Arteris IP customer, having first purchased Arteris IP in 2012. This renewal license enables GCT engineering teams to use Arteris FlexNoC interconnect IP as the backbone on-chip interconnect for multiple SoCs throughout the corporation.
“We decided to standardize on Arteris FlexNoC IP corporate-wide because of its ability to reduce idle and active power consumption while being able to meet our quality of results requirements,” said John Schlaefer, Chief Executive Officer of GCT Semiconductor. “Because of its built-in power and clock domain automation capabilities, Arteris FlexNoC makes it easier for our engineering teams to make sophisticated SoCs with complex requirements for power consumption, performance and die area.”
“We are excited that GCT Semiconductor has chosen Arteris FlexNoC as their corporate-standard interconnect IP,” said K. Charles Janac, President and CEO of Arteris. “GCT’s choice is validation that using Arteris IP is the fastest way to make low power systems-on-chip.”
