Allegro DVT Unveils Industry's First ATSC3.0 System Compliance Test Suite at IBC 2016
IBC Amsterdam - September 7th, 2016 -- Allegro DVT, the leading provider of video codec compliance test suites and hardware video IPs, today announced a new ATSC3.0 system test suite which will help silicon vendors and ATSC3.0 device manufacturers validate their implementations of products aimed at this new standard.
ATSC3.0, the new standard for over-the-air TV, brings enhanced 4K/HDR video, immersive audio experience and IP based delivery to bridge broadcast and broadband delivery mechanisms enabling new types of hybrid services such as enhanced linear viewing and access to On-Demand content. First ATSC3.0 commercial deployments are expected in 2017 with broadcast services launching in Korea and US.
Allegro DVT's ATSC3.0 system compliance suite represents the industry's first test streams for the new standard. It includes ATSC3.0 system-level streams that allow validation of various system aspects such as audio/video synchronization, active format description, subtitling synchronization and services signaling. The test suite features extensive coverage for all audio codecs at different bit rates, sampling rates and number of channels. Furthermore, comprehensive coverage of all video codecs at different resolution and frame rates is provided.
Pierre Marty, CEO of Allegro DVT, commented: "With the imminent launch of ATSC3.0, the industry needs solid test suites to validate a wide variety of new devices ranging from STBs, converter boxes to 4K Televisions with integrated ATSC3.0 tuners. Through this new product launch, Allegro DVT is reiterating its long term commitment to delivering compliance test suites for all new worldwide standards."
