Chips&Media and Goke Microelectronics partner to provide video codec IP
Seoul, Korea -- Oct 11, 2016 -- Chips&Media, a leading video IP provider based in Seoul, Korea (Republic of), today announced a new strategic partnership with Goke Microelectronics, a Chinese SoC provider of IP camera, STB, SSD and IoT. Based on rising popularity, 4K UHD products are beyond HD products on the market, and there has been gradual transition of video standards from H.264 to HEVC. In the wave of these changes, Chips&Media not only can provide high performance and low power video codec solutions, but also can provide lossy and lossless frame buffer compression technologies to save total system bandwidth. This year Chips&Media launched multi-standard IPs WAVE510, WAVE512, and WAVE515 offering HEVC, VP9, and AVS2 decode as the second-generation WAVE5 series. 4K 120fps encoding capable WAVE520 is also planned to be released very soon.
