Allegro DVT Enriches its Video Decoder Verification Packages With The Release of Multi-Codec Coverage Tool
Grenoble, France -- October 25, 2016 -- Allegro DVT, the leading provider of video codec compliance test suites and hardware video IPs, today unveiled a new multi-codec coverage tool which perfectly complements its comprehensive test streams offerings for video decoders verification.
When designing video decoders, silicon vendors are often faced with the challenge to ensure that all aspects of a video compression standard including all corner cases have been explored. Allegro DVT's new coverage tool checks that every item of a video compression standard has been exercised by a given test suite. It allows silicon vendors to confirm that their video decoder implementations achieve the highest compliance score against video compression standards.
The tool produces detailed coverage reports to assess the coverage of a given test set and highlights which sections and equations of the standard are being exercised.
Pierre Marty, CEO of Allegro DVT, commented: "Allegro DVT has the industry's most complete test streams packages for H.264/AVC, H.265/HEVC, VP9 and AVS2 video codecs. The release of our new coverage tool solidifies our leadership in audio/video compliance test suite market. It will help customers reduce their time to market and avoid costly iterations of silicon implementations due to non-compliance issues with industry video standards."
