RC Module Licenses OmniPHY's Gigabit Ethernet Technology
Ethernet PHY technology leader licenses lowest latency Gigabit PHY design
San Jose, California – March 27, 2017 – OmniPhy, a leading supplier of Ethernet PHY silicon intellectual property (IP) for the consumer, automotive, and industrial markets today announced that it has licensed Gigabit Ethernet technology to RC Module where it is being applied to very advanced connectivity challenges. The technology includes the PHY and SGMII layers and enables full IoT solutions.
OmniPHY provides Ethernet PHY technology under an IP licensing model. As such it can enable unique and differentiated solutions, cost-reduction, and integration. RC Module is an innovative development company designing high-end RISC/DSP processors, mixed-signal ASICs and real-time video-image processing systems. The OmniPhy IP especially emphasizes unique power saving and reliability diagnostic modes which are critical for the automotive application. OmniPhy’s approach allows proliferation and integration of qualified Ethernet PHY technology directly into the televions, set-top-boxes, and a variety of video-rich IC’s. Additionally, OmniPHY is active in the Automotive and Industrial eco-systems with off-the-shelf solutions for in-vehicle-neworking (IVN) and full industrial IoT connectivity solutions.
