STMicroelectronics Partners with Kilopass For One-Time Programmable Anti-Fuse NVM Memory
Update: Synopsys Expands DesignWare IP Portfolio with Acquisition of Kilopass Technology (Jan. 10, 2018)
Kilopass XPM IP Implemented in TSMC Latest FinFet Process for storing Configuration Settings
San Jose, Calif., July 11, 2017—Kilopass Technology Inc., a leading provider of semiconductor logic embedded non-volatile memory (eNVM) intellectual property (IP), today announced that STMicroelectronics (NYSE: STM), a global semiconductor leader serving customers across the spectrum of electronics applications, designed the Kilopass XPM IP one-time programmable (OTP), anti-fuse, NVM memory into an ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) IC . Implemented in the advanced FinFet process from Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) Limited, the Kilopass XPM IP stores configuration settings for automotive peripheral sensors.
“We are excited that STMicroelectronics has adopted our anti-fuse OTP NVM for their ADAS chip” said Linh Hong, Vice President and General Manager of the Kilopass OTP Division. “Our team has worked hard to ensure our IP meets the auto industry’s stringent ISO/TS 16949, ISO 26262, and AEC-Q100 standards. In addition, Kilopass’ long and extensive relationship with TSMC has enabled us to offer our standard logic CMOS OTP NVM anti-fuse products on every TSMC node from 180nm to today’s leading edge processes. This availability and history of over 10 billion units shipped with our IP provides assurance to tier 1 semiconductor companies like STMicroelectronics that Kilopass will be a capable and reliable long-term partner.”
“STMicroelectronics’ long history as a supplier to the world’s tier 1 automotive manufacturers demands a robust supply chain of semiconductor IP. Any IP suppler we use to construct our chips must have a solid track record of delivering reliable world class product,” said Marco Monti, Automotive and Discrete Group Executive Vice President and General Manager. “Kilopass has the right product at the process node we needed.”
Kilopass anti-fuse OTP NVM is the ideal solution in these platform solutions. The memory can contain calibration and temperature-compensation data for sensors and configuration information that can be updated and then individually locked to prevent change or erasure. Implemented in any standard logic CMOS process, the memory once programmed cannot be altered, nor can it be hacked by physical (de-caping the chip and examining the die) or side channel attacks (examining power profile as an indicator of content).
