Socionext Starts Offering Graphics IP "SEERIS"
Langen/Germany -- November 14, 2017 --- Socionext Inc, a leading provider of SoC-based graphics solutions, today announced that the company has integrated an IP from its highperformance graphics engine. The "SEERIS® graphics engine IP”, which has been proven on its SoC products, is now being offered to its ASIC customers, as well as customers who develop their own SoCs. Socionext will demonstrate how SEERIS will help users to achieve functionalities required in various applications at the “Embedded Technology 2017” show in Yokohama, Japan, November 15-17, at booth B-14.
Socionext, with its graphic display controller SoC products, has a track record of providing solutions such as unified control of multiple screens and the 360-degree wrap around view system, to meet the various needs of automotive and other applications. Socionext has integrated its graphics functionalities, which have been developed and used in its own graphics processors, by utilizing its technologies and knowledge for wider applications. Therefore taking full advantage of its engineering expertise gained in the delivery of graphics products and services. The company started offering the IP under “SEERIS” brand, to the company's ASIC customers, as well as customers who develop their own SoCs.
SEERIS consists of three blocks: The Capture Engine, the 2D/2.5D Graphics Engine, and the Displays Engine. The Capture Engine accepts multiple input formats including YUV and RGB. The Graphics Engine offers 2D processing by BitBLT engine, and rich functions such as warping (2.5D), multi-layer processing, copying, blending, enlargement & reduction, horizontal & vertical flip, rotation, and many others. The Displays Engine supports up to 4K resolution and is capable of handling various combinations of resolutions and screen sizes. SEERIS is also equipped with safety features that can detect the sticking or disturbance of images, so it is used in applications which require a high standard of safety.
Customers using SEERIS will be able to configure these blocks according to their specific needs, to provide quality video experiences in a wide range of applications, including automotive, consumer, medical equipment, and connected homes. SEERIS helps to develop SoCs in a shorter time and therefore get them to market faster.
