With its Modular Switch and End-System IP Technology combining both AFDX and PTP protocols SILKAN hits its target
November 30, 2017 -- SILKAN Company, expert in real time solution known by its CetraC Modular IP technology developed according to DO-254 process, is proud to announce the successful wedding of the real-time and deterministic Ethernet with the IEEE-1588 protocol.
By combining these two protocols within a single semiconductor IP, SILKAN is able to synchronize any device compliant with the ARINC664 P7 or Ethernet protocol and propagate its universal time all over the network with the best in class stability and precision (200ns).
On top of it, it is not anymore required to reserve one port to perform the synchronisation task thanks to its unique implementation, all ports can propagate within the same link both the functional data (Ethernet/AFDX/Deterministic Ethernet) as well as the IEEE-1588 PTP V2 protocols simplifying drastically your system.
“This offer has no equivalence in the market and SILKAN has reached a major step by adding the time precision capability in a standard format on its portfolio of both CetraC IPs and COSTS products” says Serge Delwasse CEO of SILKAN.
To build a trust and safe network, SILKAN has also embedded this new feature into both end-system and real time switches COSTS products. The newly built deterministic system become even simpler to configure, as well as after the introduction of new devices, as the configuration is propagated all over the system from a single and unique port.
Now, the cyber friendly and multi-protocol 8 ports switch named Babelya is offering on top of the 1Gbps ARINC 664 P7 protocol the precision time protocol to get a trust and safe network.
Each port can be configured individually as follow:

This new introduced protocol makes any CetraC compliant device suitable for the most demanding and safe systems (control/command) within various market such as airborne, automation and automotive domains.
The CETRAC modular IP technology is available now either as an agnostic IP or as COTS product.
