LDIC announces its Serial ATA – PHY, IDE-SATA-Bridge Chip, PCI-SATA-Bridge Chip and Free IP offering for Customers Specific I.C. at COMDEX
San Jose, Calif., November 21, 2002-LDIC the leader in Super Integration and Mixed Signal Technology has announce its first generation "Free IP" for Serial ATA Physical Layer, Transport and Link Layer for Integration into customers Specific I.C.s in major Pure-foundry 0.18micron CMOS technology. LDIC is offering the SATA complete solution for integrating the PHY + Link Layer + Transport Layer for Host or Target mode for IDE interface or PCI-bus. These I.P.s are proven in 0.18u CMOS technologies of major fabs and are available as "Free I.P.s" for companies, which will buy ASIC from LDIC as a final product or will be available for licensing based on "Per Usage" or a " One Time Fee". LDIC's Serial ATA provides all the features and requirement of SATA-standard for up to 16 Channels integration. LDIC also provide SATA-Gen2 in 0.13micron CMOS, which support 3.0Gb/s operation for Server and high end products, and it will be a free upgrade to companies that use LDIC's ASIC business or SATA-Gen1 products previously.
"LDIC has lead the Super Integration for years, as LDIC has design and manufactured the only True Single Chip Hard Disk Drive in 2001 ahead of all the Storage I.C. manufactures. Today LDIC has removed the barrier of the High Speed Physical Layer from storage, motherboard and communication business. LDIC is positioned to integrate millions of gates and memory, with multi-channel SATA digital and analog portions, into one chip to reduce the cost, power consumption, and increase performance of the IC and systems. LDIC will provide multiple options to customers to use SATA-PHY up to 16 channels. The Set of solutions include Interfaces to PCI, PCIX, IDE and features to support Server/networked storage and RAID functions as bridge chip or I.P to its customers," said Mehdi Bathaee, President and CTO of LSI Design and Integration, LDIC.
