Gadzoox Networks Adds Another Core to FabriCore Engines Technology Suite
New Core Enables Faster SCSI to Fibre Channel Protocol Exchanges
Santa Clara, Calif. -- November 19, 2002 -- Gadzoox Networks, Inc., (OTC: ZOOX), a global supplier of proven Fibre Channel technology for storage networking, announced today the addition of the FabriCore Engines‘ SCSI – FCP soft core. The new SCSI-FCP core is a hardware-based, SCSI-3 – Fibre Channel Protocol processing engine that manages the SCSI Exchange, Sequence and Context functions across Fibre Channel (FC) links.
The SCSI-FCP core offers higher performance than software-based implementations and increases the time-to-market advantage. Developers that design in the SCSI-FCP core can integrate these Fibre Channel features into system-level devices for use in multi-protocol switches/bridges, FC controllers, HBAs, and host and system interfaces.
"The addition of the SCSI-FCP core completes our technology suite to enable us to be the first company to offer FC technology for any SAN application," stated Steve Dalton, President and CEO of Gadzoox Networks. "Without a doubt, the availability of the FabriCore Engines technology suite will make developing FC products less expensive for our customers and ultimately accelerate our efforts to commoditize the storage networking market."
About FabriCore Engines Technology Suite
The FabriCore Engines technology suite is available in three product categories; FC soft cores, which includes the FC-MACs and the new SCSI-FCP, Open SAN OS software, and FC ASSPs. The FabriCore Engines technology suite enables developers to capitalize on Gadzoox Networks' seven years of FC development and expertise including nine patents, six patents pending and numerous other research and development accomplishments.
