48 Arteris IP Engineers Attain ISO 26262 Functional Safety Practitioner Certification by exida
ISO 26262 safety certifications demonstrate continuing investment in state-of-the-art quality and safety processes to serve the automotive semiconductor industry
CAMPBELL, Calif. — February 21, 2018 — Arteris IP, the innovative supplier of silicon-proven commercial system-on-chip (SoC) interconnect intellectual property (IP), today announced that forty-eight (48) of its engineers have earned the title of ISO 26262 Functional Safety Practitioner by successfully completing in-person training courses and examinations by exida, an ANSI-accredited certification body that is also an accredited assessor for ISO 26262 compliance.
To date, more than 85% of Arteris IP R&D engineers have earned the ISO 26262 Functional Safety Practitioner certification by completing 32 hours of in-person instructor-led training and passing a closed-book test. In addition to personnel training and certification, Arteris IP is utilizing the CMMI-DEV quality model, which is an ISO 26262-compliant Quality Management System, and has deployed Jama Software to automate aspects of requirements management and traceability.
“Earning the ISO 26262 Functional Safety Practitioner Certification provides proof of competence in applying the ISO 26262 specification to real-world engineering situations,” said Alexander Griessing, Principal Safety Expert and Manager at exida. “Arteris IP’s investment in employee training illustrates a commitment to creating a strong safety culture, which is a requirement for ISO 26262 compliance.”
“As the leading interconnect IP supplier to semiconductor design teams pioneering new SoCs for autonomous driving, automotive artificial intelligence, and advanced driver assistance systems, it is imperative that we meet and even exceed requirements for ISO 26262 compliance,” said K. Charles Janac, President and CEO of Arteris IP. “Our investment in ISO 26262 employee training and certification is just one example of our unparalleled commitment to meeting the unique needs of automotive semiconductor design teams.”
