The Canaan design team uses Arteris FlexNoC interconnect IP to manage communications between multiple on-chip hardware accelerators. They chose Arteris IP FlexNoC interconnect for their AI SoC because it:
- Enables low power consumption by implementing advanced clock gating and power management. Use of Arteris IP interconnect allows reduced power consumption for chips using multiple processing elements.
- Allows high bandwidth and low latency communications between processing elements for artificial intelligence algorithms by using FlexNoC’s advanced end-to-end quality-of-service (QoS)
- Increases system reliability and security by taking advantage of the reporting and data protection capabilities that are integrated into the FlexNoC technology.
“Arteris FlexNoC interconnect IP allows us to create much more power-efficient designs while efficiently connecting novel hardware processing elements that accelerate artificial intelligence algorithms,” said Mark Wu, VP of Technology at Canaan Creative. “Arteris interconnect IP is a key ingredient for creating the new state-of-the-art in power-efficient AI hardware.”
“We are honored that Canaan Creative has chosen Arteris IP as the on-chip interconnect for their next-generation artificial intelligence ASICs,” said K. Charles Janac, President and CEO of Arteris IP. “Canaan’s choice is proof of the energy efficiency and performance benefits our interconnect technology brings to complex systems which rely on custom hardware accelerators to speed AI and custom algorithm processing.”
