ClioSoft Achieves TUV SUD Certification in Support of Automotive ISO 26262 Standard
FREMONT, Calif.-- May 9, 2019 -- ClioSoft®, Inc., a leader in system-on-chip (SoC) design data and intellectual property (IP) management solutions for the semiconductor design industry, today announced that it has achieved Tool Confidence Level 1 (TCL1) certification from TÜV SÜD, enabling automotive semiconductor manufacturers, OEMs and component suppliers to meet stringent ISO 26262 automotive functional safety requirements.
To achieve certification, ClioSoft provided its designHUB® IP reuse ecosystem for enterprises platform, SOS7TM design-management platform along with its Visual Design software to TÜV SÜD for evaluation. TÜV SÜD confirmed all the above-mentioned products from ClioSoft are certified for use with ASIL A through ASIL D automotive design projects.
“We collaborated with TÜV SÜD to determine, establish and obtain a certification so that our customers could use the ClioSoft platforms for ASIL (automotive safety integrity level) A through ASIL D projects,” said Srinath Ananthraman, CEO and founder of ClioSoft Inc. “Automotive semiconductor companies are under constant pressure to meet aggressive design schedules, while complying with the ISO 26262 standard. This certification will enable us to ensure design teams can collaborate efficiently across multiple sites, leverage ISO certified IPs and adopt the flows needed to deliver their tape-outs successfully in the scheduled timeframe.”
ClioSoft automotive customers, such as Elmos Semiconductor AG, already have been using the company’s technology to manage complex SoC projects that must be ISO 26262-compliant.
“Since 2014 we have been using ClioSoft’s SOS7 design management platform to collaborate between designers located at multiple sites and improve the productivity of our design teams,” said Dr.-Ing Thilo Schmidt, Head of Design Support Technology and Innovation at Elmos Semiconductor. “Robustness of the data management platform is essential for us and SOS7 fulfills our expectations here. We are excited to hear about ClioSoft's work with TÜV SÜD to obtain TCL1 certification for SOS7, which we are using in our current and upcoming automotive designs.”
“Every design has unique requirements,” continued Ananthraman. “Designers look for enterprise-class solutions that are configurable for their needs, easy to use, have a rich set of features, can scale to meet future needs and can be easily adopted. Our IP design management solutions addresses these needs and continues to be positively received by design team’s year after year.”
Valens, an Israeli-based fabless company, is at the fore of revolutionizing in-vehicle connectivity. Its HDBaseT automotive solution enables long-distance, multi-Gigabit transmission and convergence of different interfaces, such as audio and video, Ethernet, USB, PCIe, controls and power over a single wire (such as unshielded twisted pair, UTP).
“To develop best-in-class solutions for the automotive industry, an ISO 26262-certified design management platform is a must,” said Evgeniy Makarov, CAD Manager at Valens. “Last year, we adopted ClioSoft’s SOS7 design management platform, and found it to be a scalable and configurable solution that meets our requirements of minimizing network disk space usage and managing our complex design handoffs. The patented universal adapter in SOS7 also helps us to reduce the number of managed objects in our backend flow. We are very satisfied with the SOS7 design management platform and the support we have received in deploying it across all our digital, analog and mixed-signal designs.”
About designHUB:
The designHUB platform provides a collaborative IP reuse ecosystem for enterprises. With built-in analytics and collaborative tools, designHUB not only improves IP reuse by providing an easy-to-use workflow for designers to leverage their internal resources but it also enables design teams to collaborate efficiently to develop SoCs faster. Enabling designers to be more productive, designHUB tracks and collates all activities for design projects and displays the notifications and tasks assigned in an easy review dashboard.
About SOS7:
ClioSoft’s SOS7 design-management platform empowers single or multi-site design teams to collaborate efficiently on complex analog, digital, RF and mixed-signal designs from concept to GDSII within a secure design environment. Tight integration with EDA tools, and an emphasis on performance for data transfer, security and disk space optimization provides a cohesive environment that enables design teams to streamline the development of SoCs. SOS7 facilitates easy design handoffs between teams and mitigates the possibility of design re-spins.
