Scalable UHD H.264 Encoder - Ultra-High Throughput, Full Motion Estimation engine
Silex Insight now supports 1GbE, 2.5GbE & 10GbE with their AV over IP OEM boards
June 7, 2019 -- Silex Silex Insight, a leading provider of AV over IP solutions, announces the extension of its family of ultra-low latency Audio/Video over IP OEM boards (called Viper), with the support of 2,5Gb and 10Gb Ethernet (in addition to 1GbE).
The Viper solution consists of encoder and decoder boards that are interconnected by standard Ethernet equipment in order to build a distributed Audio/Video network. The Viper networking protocols are fully based on open standards used to transport the video and audio stream. The innovative board is designed for seamless integration into applications such as video conferencing, health care, command & control, residential AV distribution, digital signage, video walls etc.
The Viper OEM solution targets integrators and equipment manufacturers willing to develop their own HDMI over IP products with reduced investment and time-to-market. Each industry has different needs and this is where Silex Insight fully customizable solution comes into play. At the flick of a switch the Viper boards can be adjusted to meet the desired speed requested by the customer.
“The various technologies for transmitting ethernet frames further advances our strategy to be a full solutions provider to our customers, including the sectors where high-speed is essential.” says Raphaël Gouthière, Product Manager at Silex Insight and he continues; “With its extreme low latency and advanced compression scheme, Viper can easily transport 4K60 4:4:4 over 10Gb Ethernet.”
Silex Insight also provides high-end image and video compression IP cores for professional applications. Their IP cores are available on FPGA and ASIC and include, JPEG 2000, VC-2 HQ and others. All the codecs are scalable and flexible to match the specific constraints of each application (latency, image format, performance). They are also suitable for very complex systems with very high image resolution (4K/8K or more) or ultra-low latency.
The Viper solution will be presented at Infocomm in Orlando, Florida, the largest AV systems integration show in North America (12-14 June). The demo will be shown on the Silex Insight booth #4265. The demonstration will show real-time ultra-low latency 4K video transport over 1GbE, 2.5GbE and 10GbE network.
