Credo Announces Production Availability of HiWire Active Electrical Cables
Robust 100G, 200G, and 400G Connectivity Demonstrations at CIOE 2019
Shenzhen, China, Sept 4, 2019 – CIOE – Credo, a global innovation leader in Serializer-Deserializer (SerDes) technology which delivers high performance, low power connectivity solutions for 100G, 400G, and 800G port enabled networks, today announced the production availability of HiWire™ Active Electrical Cables (AEC).
The initial product family includes the Credo HiWire AECs found in the table here: https://www.credo.com/hiwire-find-credo

Datacenter bandwidth requirements, expanding to keep up with new artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and video workloads, have triggered an urgency to deploy 400G. Credo accelerated the development and production deployment of their HiWire AEC family to fill this need. Credo’s AECs provide plug and play, deterministic, persistent in-rack and inter-rack connections at lower cost and lower power of alternative optical approaches. Additionally, the AEC family provides system level, in-cable speedshifting providing seemless connectivity of 50G PAM4 enabled switch ports to widely available 25G NRZ based servers.
“Our Credo connectivity solutions are being widely deployed in cloud, service provider, and enterprise networks,” said Jeff Twombly, VP of Marketing and Business Development Credo. “The addition of our HiWire AECs allow system providers to move rapidly to 400G while striking a strategic balance with CapEx and OpEx.”
“12.8 Tb switch adoption is being delayed by an industrywide by the lack of available 400G optics” said Alan Weckel, principal at the 650 Group. “Credo’s HiWire AECs enable hyperscalers to adopt 12.8 Tb switches now and realize up to 50% savings in their CLOS CapEx vs. legacy 3.2 Tb solutions.”
Credo HiWire Active Electrical Cables (AEC) Demonstrations at CIOE 2019:
Credo is showcasing the AEC product family at the China International Optical Expo (CIOE 2019) in Shenzhen, China through September 7. A variety of Credo AECs will be shown in live demonstrations at the Credo booth, Booth #T61. In addition to AEC demos, attendees can experience out latest optical module and line cards demonstrations. To schedule a time to view the demonstrations at CIOE, please contact Credo at sales@credosemi.com.
