LDIC Announces Serial ATA Product Line and Licensing of Its Intellectual Properties for Integration of Serial ATA in the RAID, Storage, Motherboard, SAN/NAS, and Host Bus Adapter Vendors
SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- LDIC, the technology leader in the development of Storage/Communication/Super Integration of Mixed Signal Technology solutions has successfully demonstrated its Serial ATA Interoperability with major Disk Drive, Host Bus Adapter and RAID technologies at the SATA Plugfest on Jan 22-24, 2003, hosted by Intel Corporation in Longmont, Colorado.
"LDIC is pleased with the performance of its Host and Target Serial ATA products which successfully concluded the interoperability test with all disk drive companies -- Seagate, IBM/Hitachi, Maxtor, Samsung, Fujitsu, as well as motherboard and Host Bus Adapter companies like 3Ware, ACARD and Adaptec Corporation," said Mehdi Bathaee, President and CTO of LDIC. "LDIC SATA product line supports PCI-SATA, IDE-SATA-Host, and IDE-SATA-Target. LDIC is planning to provide PCIX-SATA-Gen2 (3Gb/S) in the next quarter to its customers. LDIC is able to support up to 16-channel SATA and SATA-PHY in single Silicon."
LDIC licenses the Intellectual Properties of its Serial ATA and is able to integrate Mixed Signal ASIC, providing up to additional 1.0-Million gates in one chip to the end customers. This allows LDIC customers to incorporate new features and technologies into their products, which reduces cost, power dissipation and development time.
"LDIC's SATA compatibility proves its leadership and building value in the Storage and HDD business, enabling SAN/NAS Companies to reduce their costs, power dissipation, architecture differentiation and allow the storage application into consumer electronics," said Mehdi Bathaee.
The LDIC product "Total Solution" includes Serial ATA, 1.5Gb/S-SATA-PHY, 1Gb/s Ethernet, and 1Gb/S-Level2-Switch, GMR-Pre-Amp, HDD-Single Chip, and Firmware. LDIC chip customization "System-On-Chip" (SOC) provides an architectural differentiation to customers.
