Digital Communication Technologies (DCT) Expands Management Team - Key Additions to Accelerate DCT's Market Thrust
PLEASANTON, Calif., February 24, 2003 – Digital Communication Technologies (DCT™), a leader in the development of innovative cores and support tools for embedded Java™ applications, have announced the addition of several key industry veterans to its management team. These additions establish a leadership team necessary to continue its transition from an early-stage to a revenue-generating business.
Sean T. Marzola joins DCT as President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Marzola's primary focus will be redefining and expanding the company's business strategy and transitioning the company to a revenue-positive business. Previously, Mr. Marzola was a co-founder, Chairman, President & CEO of Embedded Wireless Devices (EWD). Under Mr. Marzola's leadership, EWD became a recognized leader in broadband wireless multi-point applications with an international presence in key Asian and European markets. Prior to EWD, Marzola held positions in international business development, marketing, and sales at several technology companies including Great Valley Products, Scott Medical Products, and Primavera Systems.
John R. Troutman joins DCT as Chief Marketing Officer and will be responsible for implementing the company's worldwide sales and marketing initiative. He brings 30 years of experience, customer relationships, and an impressive background of strategic sales, operations, and technology experience to DCT. Previously, Mr. Troutman was the Vice President Sales for the PC WLAN group at Embedded Wireless Devices. In this role, Mr. Troutman successfully established EWD's sales channels with key wireless LAN and PC manufacturers. Prior to EWD, he was the Vice President and General Manager of the Worldwide OEM Division at Creative Labs.
Scott A. Avery joins DCT as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development responsible for the development and execution of the company's marketing strategy and developing new strategic business relationships. Prior to DCT, Mr. Avery was the Vice President of Business Development at Embedded Wireless Devices where he was responsible for expanding and refining technology partner programs and forging new strategic alliances. Prior to joining EWD, Mr. Avery was Director of Marketing for Atmel Corporation's Serial EEPROM product line where he held marketing and P&L responsibility.
