Denali’s Databahn Memory Controller Cores Validated as “Ready for IBM Technology”
PALO ALTO, Calif., April 10, 2003--Denali Software, Inc., the leading provider of semiconductor intellectual property (SIP) and electronic design automation (EDA) tools for chip interface design and verification, today announced that its Databahn memory controller cores have been qualified and validated to use the "Ready for IBM Technology" mark for ASIC solutions.
IBM's "Ready for IBM Technology" program has been expanded to include foundry and ASIC (application specific integrated circuit) solutions, reinforcing the company's increased investment in these two businesses. IBM's "Ready for IBM Technology" solutions are designed to help OEM customers speed time to market, reduce development risk, lower development costs, and improve return on investment. The "Ready for IBM Technology" mark as used by Denali, identifies that the Databahn memory controller cores have been tested and validated for compatibility with IBM Microelectronics products by the solution developers, and that the Databahn solution is compatible with IBM Microelectronics products.
About Databahn Memory Controller Cores
Licensed by over 35 leading semiconductor and system companies, Databahn is the industry leading memory controller IP solution. Databahn memory controller cores are configurable for a wide range of performance requirements and ASIC interfaces. To ensure compatibility with all the latest high-speed memory technologies, the configuration process is tightly integrated with Denali's database of memory component specifications, including all the latest DDRII-SDRAM, DDR-SDRAM, FCRAM, RLDRAM, and DDR/QDR-SRAM devices. Deliverables include: RTL and synthesis scripts, verification testbench, static timing analysis (STA) scripts, programmable register settings, and documentation. The silicon-proven Databahn IP is library independent and covers solutions from .18-micron to .08-micron technologies, and DRAM device frequencies from 100-400MHz (200-800MHz data rate).
About IBM Microelectronics
IBM Microelectronics is a key contributor to IBM's role as the world's premier information technology supplier. It develops, manufactures and markets state-of-the-art semiconductor and interconnect technologies, products and services. IBM Microelectronics activities are focused in three major areas: custom application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) chips, PowerPC-based standard chip products, and high-tech foundry services. Its superior integrated solutions can be found in many of the world's best-known electronic brands. IBM is a recognized innovator in the chip industry, having been first with advances like more power-efficient copper wiring in place of aluminum, faster silicon-on-insulator (SOI) and silicon germanium transistors, and improved low-k dielectric insulation between chip wires. These and other innovations have contributed to IBM's standing as the number one U.S. patent holder for 10 consecutive years.
