ParthusCeva announces extensive upgrade to PLLXpert online and the addition of TSMC 0.13um PLL Compilers
PLLXpert Online achieves twenty-fifth licensing partner since launch one year ago
San Jose, Calif - 15 April, 2003. - ParthusCeva, Inc. (NASDAQ: PCVA; LSE: PCV), the industry's leading provider of licensable Digital Signal Processor (DSP) cores and platform-level IP solutions to the semiconductor industry, today announced an extensive upgrade to PLLXpert online with the addition of the TSMC 0.13G and TSMC 0.13LV processes, 'ready-to-go' PLLS, and strong industry adoption of PLLXpert Online.
Launched in 2002, PLLXpert Online (www.pllxpert.com) has transformed analog PLL design and delivery and has captured over 25 new licensing customers in the past year since launch. The latest upgrade to PLLXpert Online adds multiple new process options on TSMC, UMC, Silterra and First Silicon (spanning 0.25um, 0.18um and 0.13um geometries), and a portfolio of 'ready-to-go' application-specific PLLs available for download. The addition of TSMC 0.13G and TSMC 0.13LV processes enables the real-time design and delivery of Clock Synthesis and PLL IP on 0.13um. These PLLs are validated with an accompanying compiler calibration chip with clock speeds up to 1000MHz.
PLLXpert Online enables a designer to either create a custom PLL or alternatively download an existing PLL reference design that can be fine-tuned by the designer for a specific application. No prior training, in-depth PLL design knowledge or additional EDA tools are required. PLLXpert Online delivers a complete design kit including datasheets, verilog models, and the necessary files for logic synthesis, place and route. These deliverables enable the designer to fully validate the integration of the PLL into the IC by optimising the PLL until it meets system requirements with immediate GDSII delivery on final demand.
"We have achieved tremendous success with our PLLXpert technology. The addition of new processes and a wide portfolio of 'ready-to-go' PLLs greatly increases the scope and flexibility of PLLXpert online," said Kieran Flynn, Head of PLLXpert at ParthusCeva. "The addition of 0.13um processes to PLLXpert Online extends our commitment to compiler technology delivering a real analog design productivity leap in the challenging area of 0.13um geometries."
Additional PLLXpert Information
PLLXpert Online enables a designer to either create a custom PLL or alternatively download an existing PLL reference design that can be fine-tuned by the designer for a specific application.
Foundry processes: PLLs targeted at the TSMC 0.13G, TSMC 0.13LV, TSMC 0.18, UMC 0.18, Silterra 0.18 and First Silicon 0.25 processes are now available through PLLXpert Online. Each process is verified by a compiler calibration chip, which validates the design space for that process.
"Ready to Go" PLL Cores: PLLXpert.com offers a portfolio of "ready to go" PLL IP Cores covering a range of common applications such as DDR, AGP, PCI to USB2.0, STB/MPEG, Digital Audio and also a wide-band Multi-purpose PLL, all available for immediate delivery. Cores are available in a range of processes including TSMC, UMC, Silterra, and 1st Silicon at geometry's from 0.25um and 0.18um through to 0.13um.
90nm PLL Cores: PLLXpert.com offers a portfolio of general purpose PLL IP Cores specifically intended for Customers who are taking their first steps in 90nm technology. Our initial offering in the 90nm process includes 4 programmable PLL Cores covering a range of frequencies from 50MHz to 1000MHz. Other devices can be offered on request.
Additional Process Options: The ParthusCeva PLL compiler is highly flexible and can be ported to a semiconductor company's own process, enabling both in-house designers and customers to benefit from the risk free, fast time to market offered by PLLXpert Online. Designers using these processes log on to a private users area and design their PLLs on the pre-verified processes.
