EZchip Technologies' NP-1 is First Business Partner Network Processor Product to Qualify as "Ready For IBM Technology"
Provides Official Recognition of Interoperability to IBM PowerPRS Switch Fabric
San Jose, CA - April 24, 2003 -- EZchip Technologies (a subsidiary of LanOptics Ltd., NASDAQ: LNOP), a fabless semiconductor company providing high-speed network processors, today announced it is participating in the "Ready for IBM Technology" Business Partners offering and has validated its NP-1 10-Gigabit network processor with IBM's switch fabric. EZchip's NP-1 is the first IBM Business Partner network processor recognized as "Ready for IBM Technology" following successful interoperability testing with IBM's PowerPRS switch fabric. IBM and EZchip offer compatible development systems for these respective products with seamless interconnectivity to be demonstrated at the NetWorldSM+Interop® Las Vegas 2003 show, from April 29 - May 1.
Under the "Ready for Technology" offering, IBM Business Partners follow a set of procedures to ensure that their products will work with various IBM semiconductor solutions. The "Ready for IBM Technology" offerings make it easier for Business Partners to work with IBM, helping customers create innovative technologies and respond quickly to market demand and opportunity. Participants use a mark to highlight validated solutions and gain exposure to those solutions on IBM Web sites.
"The 'Ready for IBM Technology' mark indicates that extensive interoperability tests, performed with IBM's technical support team, have been successfully completed," said Terry Daly, director, PowerPRS product line and standard products operations, IBM Microelectronics. "The combination of IBM's PowerPRS switch fabric and EZchip's NP-1 network processor is a mature end-to-end solution that has proven its readiness for production designs."
"IBM and EZchip have gone to great lengths to ensure interoperability of our respective products," said Amir Eyal, EZchip's vice president of business development. "Customers are already taking advantage of the smooth interoperability while building their networking equipment with IBM's PowerPRS, the world's switch fabric market share leader, and EZchip's NP-1, the world's most integrated network processor."
EZchip will demonstrate interoperability with IBM's PowerPRS at EZchip's booth #5636 at NetWorld+Interop Las Vegas 2003.
