Wipro Technologies is the Key Level Sponsor of the 1394 Developers Conference, 2003
Wipro's leadership in this space acknowledged - technical managers among select few chosen to present papers at the premier forum
June 17, 2003 - Wipro Technologies, the leader in the IEEE 1394 IP space, is the Key Level Sponsor of the IEEE 1394 Developers Conference being held at Tokyo, Japan from June 17th to June 19th. During the show, Wipro will be demonstrating its IEEE 1394 A/V Link + 5 C solutions targeted to the chip vendors for the consumer electronics market. Wipro enjoys a clear leadership position in IEEE 1394 IP space with a complete suite of multiple silicon proven IEEE 1394 Cores and software.
With multiple licensees and over 7 years experience in the IEEE 1394 technology space, Wipro is an acknowledged leader in the IEEE 1394 IP segment. A testimony to this leadership is the fact that Wipro's technical managers have been selected to present papers at the conference. They are amongst a select few paper presenters at the conference which is the premier event of the IEEE 1394 technology.
"Our leadership in the IEEE 1394 IP space is well demonstrated at the 1394 Developers Conference by our demo, paper presentations and our sponsorship of the event" said Ramesh Emani, Chief Executive, Embedded and Product Engineering Group at Wipro Technologies. "The IEEE 1394 market is destined for high growth and we plan to further strengthen our leadership position in the IEEE 1394 IP space by propagating thought leadership and by actively contributing to various forums and events"
Wipro is demonstrating a IEEE 1394 A/V Link and 5C solution using its IEEE 1394 A/V Link with 5C IP. Using its IEEE 1394 A/V Link, Wipro is demonstrating high speed video streaming between two camcorders, once serving as a host and the other as a device. Wipro's IEEE 1394 A/V Link IP is used by chip vendors who in turn offer IEEE 1394 A/V functionality to Audio Video equipment manufacturers.
Wipro's A/V Link core with software components including IP over 1394, 5C and AV/C (Audio-Video Command set) form the backbone for the interconnectivity between the Audio-Video peripheral equipment which makes it possible for high speed data transfer with strict QoS (Quality of Service). This A/V Link Core comes along with the hardware 5C called "Encryptor" and "Decryptor" which ensure content protection.
The IEEE 1394 is a technology specification for the connectivity between devices where high speed, high bandwidth data transfer is the need. The technology's most common applications include camcorders, TVs, music systems, digital video cameras, etc. Wipro is the acknowledged leader in the 1394 IP space and was the first company in the world to get a 1394b IPs silicon proven.
Wipro's portfolio of IEEE 1394 IPs is supported by a vast spectrum of VLSI and System design as well as embedded software expertise that allows Wipro to offer customers a comprehensive, end-to-end solution.
