Verisity Announces That National Semiconductor Corporation Standardizes on Verisity's Specman Elite
National selected Verisity as its preferred functional verification solutions provider as Verisity's technology and methodology enables National to create and deliver high-quality SoC and IP designs. Specman Elite offers National's engineers an environment for all aspects of verification, including automatic generation of functional tests, data and assertion checking and functional coverage analysis.
Specman Elite also provides National with a comprehensive verification reuse methodology. With Specman Elite, National can incorporate e Verification Components (eVCs) into their designs to dramatically save time when developing their verification environments. eVCs are reusable, configurable plug-and-play verification environments for standard interfaces and are based on Specman Elite. Several different sites and projects within National are using Specman Elite and eVCs.
"On our first project using Specman Elite, our engineers were three times more productive than with any of our previous verification approaches. Specman Elite was able to find several critical bugs that we hadn't explicitly written tests for," said James Lin, vice president of National's Technology Infrastructure Group. "The most compelling aspect of Verisity's automated solutions is how easily they facilitate verification reuse across projects and geographic locations. This level of uniformity enables us to quickly respond to a dynamic marketplace."
"National Semiconductor has recognized the critical importance of institutionalizing verification process automation to bring their next-generation products to market in a predictable and repeatable manner," said Craig Shirley, vice president of North American sales for Verisity. "We are committed to working together with National to shorten their design cycles and to facilitate on-time, first-pass silicon success with Specman Elite and e Verification Components (eVCs)."
