IKOS Systems Offers Emulation for Every SoC Designer
SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 13, 2001--IKOS Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:IKOS), a leading provider of high-performance design verification solutions, today announced its rental and rent-to-own program, iEN (iEmulate Now). iEN enables virtually every company doing SoC designs to bring the power of emulation to the designer's desk. IEN is a low-cost rental program that requires no payments during the first 90 days.
Companies are increasingly looking to system-on-chip (SoC) solutions to satisfy stringent time-to-market and price requirements in a competitive market. Complex multi-million gate designs require high-performance verification methodologies, in addition to traditional software simulation. And, high-performance emulation solutions have a track record of providing all the performance needed to successfully verify complex SoC designs. In order to meet these requirements for designer companies of all sizes and varied budgets, the iEN program was created to enable small organizations and others restricting capital outlay to cost-effectively use emulation on their site.
``Companies trying to verify complex, large designs don't question whether or not they need emulation technology, but when they can fit it into their budget,'' said Linda Prowse Fosler, vice president of marketing for IKOS. ``With our new iEN program the answer is -- right now. The iEN rental program allows virtually any SoC designer to start emulating today with every dollar of that rental investment applicable toward future purchase for those who wish do so.''
``iEmulate Now'' gives customers immediate on-site access to IKOS' VStation-5M, an industry-leading, high-performance verification system, for as little as $40,150 per month. Customers who rent for 24 months will own their VStation-5M at a price below full list. The key elements of the program are:
- absolutely no payments for the first three months
- immediate availability of a VStation-5M emulation system at the customer site
- low monthly rental fees
- the rental can be converted to a purchase at any time with 100% credit of all rental fees
IKOS' VStation-5M emulation system is a complete system-on-a-chip (SoC) verification station offering a simulation-like user interface; easy-to-use in-circuit emulation, high-performance co-modeling through the Transaction Interface Portal (TIP); data streaming with virtually unlimited vector width and fully integrated RTL compile and debug capabilities. The VStation-5M emulator verifies highly complex designs up to 5 million gates, has expandable memory capacity up to 48Mbytes and operates at emulation speeds up to 2MHz. It incorporates IKOS' patented VirtuaLogic(TM) compiler and VirtualWires(TM) technology. The VStation-5M features easy memory modeling; accurate modeling of asynchronous clocks; fast, fully automated partitioning and compilation, as well as 100% visibility of internal and external signals. It has a compact form factor, weighs 110 lbs (49.9 kg) and operrates on 90-264V AC power.
Pricing and Availability
Through the iEN program, the Vstation-5M is available for customer shipment and installation immediately. Pricing depends on the exact system configuration and starts as low as $40,150.00 per month, beginning with the fourth month, for a 3-board system capable of emulating designs up to 2million gates and 24Mbyte of memory.
