RichCore Announces High Quality MPEG1/2/4 Encoder Core -- RC1480
The new core provide support of MPEG1/2/4 industry standards and make it quick and cost-effective for designers to incorporate MPEG encoder in their systems. Designed for reliable reuse and packaged with verification aids and documentation, the cores are available in source form for ASIC synthesis or as netlists optimized for various programmable devices.
The RC1480 core is a high performance, low power consumption and low cost (i.e., small silicon area) complete MPEG-4 video encoder core. Integrated features in the RC1480 core include an MPEG-4 advanced simple profile video and MPEG-1/2 video encoder. In addition, the built-in video input filtering module performs adaptive noise reduction on input video signal and significantly improves the compression gain at low encoding bit rate. By choosing different system IO interfaces, the core can be synthesized as a single mpeg encoder chip which is well suited for PC based home media gateway/center application, or it can be easily integrated with a popular DVD or set-top box decoder to satisfy the video recorder application
