Actel Introduces Solution Partners Program to Simplify Actel-Based Designs
Program Integrates Providers of FPGA Design Services, Design Consulting and Embedded Software and Hardware Products to Complement Actel's Products
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., November 17, 2003 - Underscoring its commitment to provide its customers with complete system solutions, Actel Corporation (Nasdaq: ACTL) today unveiled its new Solution Partners Program, a cooperative effort between Actel and third-party providers of field-programmable gate array (FPGA) design services, embedded software and hardware products to help designers accelerate their time to market for Actel-based designs. The program provides customers with access to additional design resources, application expertise and products, from strategic partners worldwide, that complement Actel's products and services. Also today, Actel introduced an updated intellectual property (IP) Web interface. With a comprehensive and easy-to-use search engine, the IP Web site further supports Actel's effort to offer complete system solutions.
"The value-added services and products offered by our Solution Partners enable designers to more easily meet their system design needs by leveraging additional design resources and products that have been specifically tailored for Actel devices," said Yankin Tanurhan, senior director, applications and IP solutions at Actel. "Actel's Solution Partners complement our world-class programmable devices, development software, hardware tools and IP products and services, further allowing our customers to streamline their design process, get to market faster and minimize their design costs and risks. Through this program, in conjunction with our new IP Web interface, we are able to help designers meet their design needs by providing one central location to locate Actel FPGAs, tools, IP and design services."
Actel's Solution Partners program currently has 14 partners worldwide who have proven experience with Actel's development tools and FPGA devices. Product segments represented by the partners include embedded software, diagnostic hardware and turnkey design services. The participating design services and consulting firms have design centers worldwide and specialize in a wide range of vertical applications.
All products and services offered by Actel's Solution Partners are provided by the partners, who are responsible for pricing, warranty and technical support to customers. New partners will be added on an ongoing basis. For more information, please refer to the new IP Web site at http://www.actel.com/products/ip/index.html.

Actel Upgrades IP Web Interface
Actel's new IP Web interface provides an efficient, easy-to-use search engine with a dynamic search function that enables simultaneous searches of the Actel Web site by silicon product family, core name, core function, core supplier, keyword and a multiple core search. The intuitive nature of the program allows users to approach it from a market, function, supplier or product viewpoint. Also new to the site, product description pages offer hyperlinks to related services and products, providing complete design solutions. The new IP Web interface can be accessed at http://www.actel.com/products/ip/index.html .
Actel DirectCore and CompanionCore Solutions
Actel offers its own system-level IP solutions, called DirectCores, specifically designed and optimized for use with Actel devices. The company also offers third-party IP blocks, called CompanionCores, that have been tested and verified in Actel FPGAs. Covering applications ranging from embedded systems to consumer and communications, the cores offered include bus interfaces, communication controllers and interfaces, processors and peripherals, encryption and memory controllers as well as multimedia and error correction.
Actel DirectCores and CompanionCore products offer seamless implementation through Actel's suite of internal and third-party EDA development tools, documentation, and quality service and support, thereby streamlining the design process, enabling faster time-to-market and minimizing design costs and risks.
