StarCore LLC Launches Japan Office
Austin, TX – November 10, 2003 – StarCore LLC, the fastest growing provider of licensable digital signal processors (DSP), announced today expansion into the Japanese market with the opening of a sales and support office in Tokyo, Japan, and the appointment of Mr. Max (Masami) Yamashita as Director of Japan Operations.
Mr. Yamashita and team are chartered to grow the StarCore LLC business in Japan and provide local support for current and future licensees of StarCore LLC’s fully synthesizable DSP technology. The company’s family of highly flexible DSP platforms includes solutions for a wide variety of applications such as mobile platforms, communication infrastructure, general embedded, and consumer products. StarCore also has a select group of third-party alliance members that offer software development tools, applications software, development boards, and operating systems to provide Japan’s leading customers the ability to rapidly bring powerful, energy-efficient, and feature-rich devices to market.
“Hiring a seasoned player such as Mr. Yamashita is a key step toward the growth of our business in Japan. Max was the obvious choice given his unique mix of attributes including a solid product engineering background, marketing expertise, software industry experience, and extensive industry contacts,” says Tom Lantzsch, CEO of StarCore LLC.
Mr. Yamashita comes to StarCore with more than 18 years of technical product engineering, business development, advanced product planning and embedded systems experience. His experience includes 15 years at Matsushita, where he was Manager of New Business Development for the Corporate Management Division. Previous positions within the company included Senior Design Engineer, OEM Hardware Design Engineer and Sales Engineer involved in product design, planning and marketing. Before Matsushita, he spent two years at Fujitsu as a Hardware Design Engineer. Max graduated from the National Defense Academy in Electrical Engineering.
