IC Mask Design delivers on Motorola's latest chip design
Irish- based IC Mask Design builds credibility in Fortune 500 market
LIMERICK, IRELAND - December 11, 2003 - IC Mask Design Limited, a leading Design Services company to the global semiconductor industry, has successfully delivered on the physical design of complex analog IP for Motorola Semiconductor Ireland to be used in the next generation communications chipset for Motorola’s mobile technology. The physical design, which was completed at the IC Mask Design Engineering Centre in Dublin on a 90nm technology using leading Electronic Design Automation toolsets, was delivered on time against a very aggressive schedule.
This engagement with Motorola is a milestone for the Irish Semiconductor Design Services Company, which, in its first year of operation, has seen substantial growth in its business, to include a worldwide customer base ranging from medium sized IC Design companies to leading multi-national Fortune 500 companies. Motorola is the fourth such Fortune 500 customer that IC Mask Design has signed and delivered to in the 12-month period.
“We had a difficult challenge, designing precision analog circuits in 90nm technology to reside on a baseband processor, in a compressed timescale. IC Mask Design were able to help meet our timescale. They were flexible, and delivered on time within the design constraints imposed. They operated like an extension of our own design team” said Mr. David Redmond, Design Manager at Motorola Ireland.
Speaking on the successful delivery, Mr. Fergal Brosnan, CEO of IC Mask Design Limited said, “The success of this engagement is an indication of the confidence that our customers have in our ability to provide a high-quality physical design solution for their next generation products. Since the company began operations, we have successfully secured a customer base of leading semiconductor companies. Motorola is another success that has seen IC Mask Design achieve substantial growth, even in these difficult economic conditions. This type of business engagement proves our ability to complete complex physical designs from locations remote to customer engineering teams”
