Silicon Image Joins Verisity's Pure IP Program; Provides Automated Process for Integrating Silicon Image's SATA, HDMI and DVI IP
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Dec 9, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Verisity, Ltd. (Nasdaq: VRST), the leading supplier of Verification Process Automation (VPA) solutions, today announced that Silicon Image (Nasdaq: SIMGE), a leader in high-bandwidth semiconductor and system solutions for mass markets, has joined Verisity's Pure IP(TM) program. The program enables Silicon Image to provide its customers with automated processes, technologies and methodologies for integrating Silicon Image's intellectual property (IP) cores based on the Serial ATA (SATA), High-Definition Multimedia Interface(TM) (HDMI(TM)) and Digital Visual Interface (DVI) industry standards.
Verisity's Pure IP program eases the development, delivery and integration of IP. As a member of the program, Silicon Image thoroughly verifies its cores using Verisity's Verification Process Automation (VPA) solutions, including Verisity's market-leading Specman Elite(R) technology. Silicon Image then packages each core's verification environment into an executable form called a verification toolkit, and delivers those toolkits alongside their IP to customers. Silicon Image has already successfully delivered verification toolkits with its SATALink(TM) core to ATI Technologies.
"Silicon Image is committed to providing proven, high-quality IP and established processes to facilitate our customers' successful SOC integration," said Eric Almgren, director of IP licensing for Silicon Image. "We have used Verisity's VPA solutions and believe our customers can also benefit from their technical expertise and automated methods. Verisity's Pure IP Program simplifies the IP integration process for our customers."
The verification toolkits contain checking and coverage analysis capabilities from the core's original verification environment that aid customers in integrating the IP into their systems. The toolkits enable Silicon Image's customers to automatically check that they have integrated the cores correctly, flag incorrect usage as well as measure the coverage of the IP interface.
"Verisity has long recognized the unique challenges of IP verification and integration, and our VPA solutions successfully address these problems," said Dave Tokic, director of strategic marketing for Verisity. "Silicon Image is a leader in providing high-bandwidth solutions and we look forward to expanding our partnership through the Pure IP program to improve their customers' IP integration processes."
