MIPS TECHNOLOGIES ESTABLISHES
EAST COAST SALES HEADQUARTERS IN BOSTON
Sales Director Named to Run Sales and Applications Support Office
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., May 8, 2001 - MIPS Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: MIPS, MIPSB), a leading provider of industry-standard processor architectures and cores for digital consumer and network applications, announced it has established an East Coast headquarters for sales and applications support in Boston. The company also named David Yager to the position of director, sales and business development, based in the Boston office.
Headquartered in Mountain View, Calif., MIPS Technologies also has offices in Southern California, Texas, England, France and Germany, as well as a design center in Denmark. The new East Coast sales office in the Boston suburb of Newton, is located at Riverside Center, Building 2-400, 225 Grove Street, Newton, MA 02466.
"Boston was chosen as the hub of our East Coast sales and support operations because it is one of the most important technology centers in the country, with telecommunications and networking companies using high-performance microprocessors. It gives us better access to the companies here who are using MIPS technology, while also providing an excellent opportunity to expand our presence in some very high-growth markets," said Yager, who has more than 20 years' experience in the high-technology industry at companies such as Digital Equipment Corp., Advanced Micro Devices and Echelon Corp.
