ProDesign Partners with Aurora VLSI to Offer a Complete Development Solution for SoC Designs
Solution Combines ProDesign's CHIPit™ Platforms and Aurora VLSI's Cores
Wilsonville, Oregon - March 16, 2004 - ProDesign and Aurora VLSI today announced a partnership to offer a complete development solution for SoC Designs. The partnership combines ProDesign's high-speed CHIPit™ SoC development and verification platforms and Aurora VLSI's proven IP cores to deliver an integrated solution that will speed the development of SoC designs, which will ultimately result in rapid product deployment.
The combination of ProDesign's high-speed CHIPit hardware-assisted platform and Aurora's processor and peripheral cores, offers SoC developers an integrated subsystem that can interface with their proprietary IP on a variety of bus standards. This allows customers to focus on their core competency and start looking at the performance of their IP as it interacts with other hardware and software. This powerful solution not only speeds the development time, but it provides a demonstration vehicle to measure the progress for each stage of the process.
"A key goal of our partnership is to fulfill the needs of SoC developers who require the integration of their custom proprietary IP with an off the shelf IP to validate the performance of their core technology at the system level," said Douglas Willmore, director of sales for ProDesign USA. "As a proven provider of quality IP cores and top-notch consulting services, Aurora VLSI, can quickly integrate an SoC design including 32 bit processor, AHB bus, memory subsystem and peripheral IP using CHIPit. With this unique partnership we can provide substantial time-to-market advantages for customers worldwide."
"The high-performance hardware platform delivered by CHIPit has greatly minimized the usual emulation effort and accelerated the prototyping process, allowing us to concentrate on the overall system, software and integration issues," said Joan Pendleton, CEO and founder of Aurora VLSI. "The team at ProDesign also helped us create a unique SoC debug environment, which will provide a more efficient means to examine the software and firmware on our 32bLOW system. ProDesign's established accomplishments with CHIPit and their expertise in system development brings a unique capability to this aspect of SoC emulation and prototyping, and assures our customers of a quality solution."
To see a live demonstration of the Aurora 32bLOW processor, AMBA® AHB bus system and memory controller subsystem running on a CHIPit verification platform at 50Mhz clock speed, please visit ProDesign at booth #413.
