Green Hills Software's INTEGRITY RTOS Speeds Complex System Deployment with Integration of Texas Instruments DSP/BIOS Link
Combination Accelerates Time to Deployment of Secure Portable Data Terminals
SANTA BARBARA, CA-March 26, 2004 - Green Hills Software, Inc., the market leader in embedded software development tools and royalty-free real-time operating systems (RTOS), today announced the integration and availability of the Texas Instruments, Inc. (TI) DSP/BIOS Link technology with the company's INTEGRITY RTOS. Designed for the TI OMAP5910 dual-core processor, this integration of DSP/BIOS Link for INTEGRITY provides the developer with a standard set of robust microprocessor-to-DSP communications services for the OMAP processor architecture, eliminating the need for developers to create these functions from scratch as required in the past.
"Multimedia developers will benefit from the robust set of ARM-to-DSP communications services in DSP/BIOS Link," said Gregory Mar, worldwide OMAP marketing manager, Texas Instruments, Inc. "Using Green Hills Software's INTEGRITY RTOS with our OMAP5910 processor will help them to create feature-rich applications in a variety of portable markets."
The OMAP5910 delivers the best of both worlds by combining in a single device the real-time processing capabilities and low-power consumption of TI´s TMS320C55x DSP core, with the flexibility and scalability of a TI-enhanced ARM925 microprocessor. The OMAP5910 was specifically designed for devices that require embedded applications processing in connected environments such as portable medical devices, point-of-sale and asset inventory applications. The royalty-free INTEGRITY RTOS resides on the ARM925 core and together with DSP/BIOS Link, provides secure management and control for the booting of the DSP along with instantiating the algorithms required by a specific function into DSP internal memory.
Dan Mender, director of business development for Green Hills Software explained, "The integration of the INTEGRITY RTOS with DSP/BIOS Link enables unparalleled application security and reliability allowing OEMs to develop and deploy next-generation secure portable data terminals (PDTs) more quickly and more securely than with other solutions."
Pricing & Availability
Development licenses for the DSP/BIOS Link integration on the INTEGRITY RTOS are available in April starting at $4,500 USD.
