ITRI Selects HelloSoft's Algorithm To Power Their Next Generation VoIP Solutions
SAN JOSE, Calif. - March 30, 2004 - HelloSoft Inc., a leading provider of communication Intellectual Property (IP), today announced licensing of its ITU-T G.167 compliant Acoustic Echo Canceller (AEC), a part of the HelloVoiceT family of products, to Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), a primary non-profit R&D center for industry in Taiwan.
The HelloVoice solution is a VoIP software suite designed to implement VoIP on devices ranging from low-end IP phones, to midrange CPE, to high-end gateways. HelloVoice consists of a flexible system-level framework (Voice OS) encompassing DSP components, packet handling components, protocol components and Quality of Service (QoS). The HelloVoice software suite is available in various combinations of DSP and CPU platforms or completely on a single RISC processor.
HelloSoft's unique software AEC is ITU-T G.167 compliant, capable of handling echo spans of up to 250ms and optimized to eliminate echo caused by acoustic feedback in real-time communications. The highly efficient, full duplex speech-processing algorithm cancels the echo without audible echo or clipping. HelloSoft's AEC is available on leading standard/non-standard DSP and CPU architectures.
"HelloSoft's voice processing algorithm will allow us to integrate the type of enhancements required in our design to deliver superior voice quality," said Dr. JunLin Liu, Manager ITRI. "We are very pleased with the delivery of the software and the cooperation we received in the development of our project. HelloSoft has an excellent technology and we foresee great success in this space."
"The integration of HelloSoft's technology into ITRI's VoIP solutions marks another milestone on HelloSoft's path to becoming a leading embedded voice processing supplier in the market today," stated Krishna Yarlagadda, President & CEO of HelloSoft. "We are delighted to be able to add ITRI to our growing list of customers, and look forward to a successful relationship."
